Mrs. Betty Ann Curry Lewis, 87, of Hartwell, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at her home.

Betty was born July 8, 1935 to Willis Lee "W.L." and Alice McDaniel Curry in the Three Forks Community of Belton Texas.  After graduating high school she worked for the Peoples National Bank in Belton TX and after moving to Hartwell GA, she worked for the Bank of Hartwell.  She married Larry R. Lewis on February 6, 1959.  He preceded her in death on October 9, 2011.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Louise Northern, her husband Tom and Mildred Kaiser, her husband Gus; a brother: Billy Curry, his wife Betsy Seal Curry and a great-granddaughter: Lorelai Ann Winesburg.

Betty was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and served in the Sunday School Department for fifty years.  She enjoyed going to church as long as her health would let her.  She also enjoyed music, working in the yard and garden.

Betty is survived by a daughter: Carla Lewis Bannister and her husband Randy of Hartwell; a son: Craig Lee Lewis and his wife Daysa of Belton TX; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Teasley and her husband Joseph, Katherine Winesburg and her husband Lucus, Lewis Bannister & Landon Bannister and four great grandchildren: Skyler Teasley, Chloe Teasley, Dawson Teasley and Bristol Teasley.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home of Craig and Daysa Lewis, 423 Lewis Road, Hartwell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Lewis will be Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Michael Kimberly and Rev. John Silver officiating.  Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
