Ms. Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Adams Nissley, 94 of Hartwell, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on November 24, 1929 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late James Adams and Alice Turner Adams.  Mrs. Nissley retired from Oglethorpe University as the Dean's Secretary.

Survivors include two sons: Hal Nissley of Cumming GA, Chris Nissley of Oxford AL;  one sister: Audrey Statham of Buford GA; two brothers: Winston Adams, Inman Adams both of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Nathan Nissley, Elizabeth Aurora Carrol Nissley, Evan Nissley, Adam Nissley, Dillon Nissley; four great- grandchildren: Madeline Carrol, Clementine Carrol, Lincoln Nissley and Montana Nissley. Mrs. Nissley was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Gary Allen Nissley; three brothers: Aaron Adams, Bubba Adams, Jim Tom Adams and one sister: Barbara Ann Herring.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Nissley will be Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Lane Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
