Mrs. Carol Betty Ann Payne Lunsford, 84, of Tom Rice Road, Canon, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at her home.

Born on May 22, 1940 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Norman Payne and Mabel Sanders Payne.  She was a retired church secretary, where she served for many years at Sharon Baptist Church, Smyrna GA. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, member of her local PTA and while a member of Sharon Baptist Church she was in the church choir and worked with children of all ages. Mrs. Lunsford was currently a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: Waymon Lunsford; a daughter: Debbie Turner of Marietta GA; a son: Wes Lunsford (Laura) of Hiram GA; a brother: Tribble Payne (Cheryl) of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Cason Lunsford, Ansley Lunsford, Ben Smith (Victoria), Lacey Turner and Blake Turner and two great-grandchildren: Riley and Gracie.  Mrs. Lunsford was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Sara Bannister and three brothers: Harry Payne, Jerry Payne and Carey Payne.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Lunsford will be Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Thomason and Rev. Jerry Durham officiating.  Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
