Mrs. Betty Ruth Pruitt Fleming, 88, of Fleming Road, Canon, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.
Born on September 12, 1930 in Lavonia GA, she was the daughter of the late Howard M. Pruitt and Annie Little Pruitt.Mrs. Fleming was owner / operator of The Hobby Shop, a seamstress and caterer.She was a former member of the Credit Women International and an officer in her local chapter.Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, where she served as a SS teacher, WMU leader, Sunbeam leader and was active in many other things in her church.
Survivors include two daughters: Margie (Max) Milford of Canon and Sandra (Jimmy) Sanders of Bowersville; two sons: Steve (Janet) Fleming of Hartwell and Keith (Sandra) Fleming of Canon; ten grandchildren: Marisa (Terry) Williams, Matthew (Lynda) Milford, Carly (Michael) Rowland, Hunter Milford, Hayley (Caleb) Senkbeil, Josh (Maria) Fleming, Jarred (Kayla) Fleming, Julie (Carloyn) Wilson, Kayla (Adam) Herring and Lisa (Gage) Hanks; seventeen great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law: Mary Pruitt of Anderson SC, Jenelle Fleming of Royston and Mary Alice Bradford of Washington GA also survive.Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Leroy Fleming and two brothers: Hoyt Pruitt and Royce Pruitt.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 3:30 Sunday afternoon.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening.The family will be at their respective homes. Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church. PO Box 396, Hartwell GA 30643.
