Betty Sue Reed Kelley

Mrs. Betty Sue Reed Kelley, 91, of Canon, Passed away peacefully Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson SC.

Born on May 5, 1935 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Purcell Reed and Helen Greenway Reed. Mrs. Kelley was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her two sons: Ronald Kelley (Martha Sue) and Dale Kelley (Robin) all of Canon; two grandchildren: A.J. Kelley (Hannah) of Canon and Christy Yeargin (Ted) of Bowersville; three great grandchildren: Colt Yeargin, Ty Yeargin and Easton Kelley and a sister: Margaret Rich of Summerville GA also survives.

Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Haskell Reed and Willie Reed and three sisters: Lucille Fulghum, Bobbi Higginbotham and Inez Hill.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Sue Kelley will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
