IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Barrett
Williamson
July 27, 1939 – July 27, 2024
Betty Williamson, born on July 27, 1939, in Commerce, Georgia, to Grady and Maddie Barrett, was one of twelve children. Initially a homemaker, Betty later became well-known and beloved in the community as the manager of the Fleet Station in Baldwin. Many still affectionately remember her as "Cool Granny," a title earned from her frequent visits to her youngest daughter's elementary school, where she brought joy by delivering pizza or dressing up as the Easter bunny for the children at Baldwin Elementary.
Betty was a loving mother, not only to her own children and grandchildren but also to many others in the community. She loved shopping and never went anywhere without her signature red lipstick. She never met a stranger, and all who knew her loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jerry Williamson, her son Greg Williamson, and her siblings Rev. Johnny Barrett, Donnie Barrett, Joyce Thompson, Jimmy Barrett, Mildred Philyaw, and James Barrett.
She leaves behind her four loving children: daughter Deborah Williamson, son Timmy (Denise) Williamson, daughter Pam (Randy) Lovell, & daughter Nicole Clark-Floyd. Also surviving are her siblings Bobby (Brenda) Barrett, Billy Joe Barrett, Jerry (Joyce) Barrett, Terry (Judy) Barrett, and Steve (Pam) Barrett. Betty is also survived by her 15 cherished grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at New Vision Worship Center, 335 L C Turner Rd, Baldwin, GA 30511. Betty's legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
