Mrs. Betty Sue Wood Brown, 81, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Hart Care Center with her family by her side.

Born on May 7, 1942 in Bowersville GA, she was the daughter of the late Noah J. Wood and Gladys Elizabeth Bray Wood.  Mrs. Brown retired after 30 years as a seamstress for the Hartwell Company, loved taking care of her grandchildren and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brown is survived by three sons: Benjamin Martin of Royston, Ronald Brown and Donald Brown both of Athens; a step-son: Jack Brown Jr. of Hartwell; a granddaughter, who was her caretaker: Melissa Smith of Martin and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Jack Brown Sr.; two daughters: Shirley Ann Murray and Kathy Smith and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Brown wished to be cremated and a graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randall Starrett officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes.
