Mrs. Betty Jane Byrum Yeargin, 84, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia.

Born on June 1, 1941 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Byrum and Jewel Lee Ison Byrum. Mrs. Byrum was a homemaker and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter: Connie Stovall (Wesley) of Lavonia; a son: Ted Yeargin (Christy) of Bowersville; three grandsons: Colt Yeargin, Ty Yeargin and Brian Stovall and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Yeargin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Wallace Yeargin; a brother: Hugh Byrum and a sister; Rachel Roe.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 4 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Yeargin will be Monday, May 4 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Sean Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
