Mr. Billy J. "Bill" Cleveland, age 80, of2726 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, Ga., husband of Dewis Cleveland, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at Hart County Hospital.

Born May 2, 1926 in Hart County, he was the son of the late King Henry Cleveland and Emma Jones Cleveland.He was a retired brick mason and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.Mr. Cleveland was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater.

He is survived by his wife Dewis Reed Cleveland, Hartwell, Ga., daughter Jan Cleveland and her husband Ricky of Hartwell, step-son Thomas Fay and his wife Diane of Hartwell, brothers Arnold Cleveland of Anderson and Harold Cleveland of Hartwell, sister Evelyn Gaines of Anderson. Grandchildren Mark Fay, Mickey Davenport and Lucus Kalas.Great-Grandchildren Tyler Fay, Leah Davenport and Logan Davenport.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe and Teasley Cleveland and sisters Irene Adams, Onie York and Gladys Cathy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 2:00p.m. from the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Dr. Donald Little and Rev. Joe Black will officiate.Burial will be in the Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour.The family will be at the home of Thomas and Diane Faye, 2747 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, Georgia.
