Obituary
Mr. Bill Roe of 120 Roe Rd., Bowersville, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born November 8, 1925 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Levis Roe and Willie Weaver Roe.He was a retired Rural Mail Carrier and Cattle & Poultry Farmer.He was a long time member and Past Deacon of Bowersville Baptist Church.He helped with elections in Hart County and served on Bowersville City Council for a number of years.He was a WW II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific Theater.
His survivors include:Wife, Rachel Byrum Roe of the home; Nephew raised in the home, Ted Yeargin and his wife Christy of Bowersville, GA; Sister, Montine Anderson of Snellville, GA; Niece, Connie Stovall and her husband Wesley, and great nephew Brian; He was Papa Bill to two great nephews Colt and Ty Yeargin.He is preceded in death by his parents; Brothers, Edwin Roe and Bob Roe; and a sister, Mildred Jones.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bowersville Baptist Church.Rev. Connie Ivester will officiate.Burial will be in the Bowersville City Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Bowersville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 26, Bowersville, GA30516
