Mr. Billy Alvin Calcutt, 73, of Hartwell, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his home.
Born on September 30, 1939 in Johnsonville, SC, he was the son of the late Clyde Calcutt and Julia Powell Calcutt.He was a retired boilermaker for Boilermaker International, a veteran of the US Navy and the US Army, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth H. Calcutt of the home; one son, William M. Calcutt of N. Charleston, SC; one daughter, Frances Gard of Jacksonville, FL; and six grandchildren.Mr. Calcutt was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, W.D. Calcutt; and one sister, Margaret Thompson.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. F. Hugh Kirby officiating.Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens.
