Mr. Billy Ray Cantrell, 86, of Demorest GA, formerly of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Habersham Home West.

Born on February 14, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Jess Cantrell and Lena Jordan Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company after 35 years of employment. He was a member of the Choestoe Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Amanda Vickery Cantrell; one son: Tim Cantrell and one grandson: Nick Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Kathy Cantrell Stone; one daughter-in-law: Kim Herring Cantrell; one granddaughter: Morgan Waters; one brother: Verna Cantrell; and one sister: Elizabeth Reid.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Cantrell will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Keith Reid officiating.  Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
