Obituary
Mr. Billy Joe Evans, 60, of Gurley Road, Bowersville, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 20, 1959 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Lottie Geddings Evans Clark and the late Emmanuel T. Evans, Sr. Mr. Evans was self-employed Plumber, Electrician and Mechanic.He was also of the Church of God Faith.
Survivors include his mother: Lottie Evans Clark; step-mother: Faye Evans Winn; one daughter: Teri E. Luther of Camden, SC; one son: David Joseph Evans of Hartwell; four sisters: Shirley Evans, Barbara Evans, and Melissa Cooley all of Hartwell, Angel Morrill of Starr, SC; one brother: Eddie Sosebee of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Caden Evans, Waylon Luther and Bodie Luther. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers: Tommy Evans and Calvin Eugene Evans.
A memorial service celebrating Billy Joe's life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the Long Point Recreational Area, located at the end of Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell, with Rev. Colby Myers officiating.The family request that everyone bring pictures and memorabilia that can shared by everyone.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
