Obituary
Mr. Billy O. Fleming Sr., 90, of 341 Winn Way, Decatur, died peacefully Wednesday, May 15 at his home with his wife beside him.
Born January 1, 1923 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Denver Fleming and Erma Morris Fleming.He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and retired from American Mutual Insurance Company.Mr. Fleming was a former member of various civic clubs and a mason.He was a U S Army WW II veteran, serving in the European Theater.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Rebecca "Becky" Dunn Fleming of the home, a son, Dr. Billy O. Fleming of Waxhaw NC; a daughter, Debra F. Jackson of Duluth; two sisters, Peggy Anderson of Anderson SC and Sara White of Comer GA; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Emerson Fleming.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Dr. Billy O. Fleming and Rev. Owen Stepp officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
