Obituary
Mr. Billy John Moorhead, age 73, of 255 Laurel Drive, Hartwell, GA, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at Hart County Hospital.
Born October 17, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late John Moorhead and Sabra Partain Moorhead.He attended the University of Georgia School of Journalism.He was the Owner/operator of "The Pacer Photography" for 51 years.He was a member of Hartwell First Baptist Church; former High School Football Referee for over 30 years in the Northeast Georgia Region.
He is survived by:Wife, Patricia Seawright Moorhead of the home; Sons, John L. Moorhead and his wife Melissa of Hartwell, GA and William "Bill" Moorhead of Atlanta, GA; Three grandchildren, Elizabeth Paige "Libby" Moorhead, Catelyn Moorhead and Lane Moorhead.He is preceded in death by Parents and a daughter, Cheri Shiflet.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First Baptist Church.Dr. Steve Williams and Dr. Hugh Kirby will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.The family requests no flowers; Memorials may be made to Hartwell First Baptist Church, 81 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, GA30643 or to the American Cancer Society, 1610 Lightwood Road, Hartwell, GA30643.
