Mr. Billy Singleton, age 56, of 221 Rock Springs Road, Lavonia, Ga., died Thursday, November 23, 2006 at Saint Mary's Hospice House, Athens, Ga.
Born September 22, 1950 in Anderson, S.C., he was the son of the late Furman Doyle Singleton. He was a self-employed businessman, owned several car washes and was a real-estate agent with Buckaneer Realty of Hartwell. He was a member of Flat Shoals Baptist Church and attended Rock Springs Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce and National Realtors Association.
He is survived by: his mother, Mary Dean Singleton of Lavonia, Ga., wife, Pam Moore Singleton of the home, son, Chris Singleton and his wife Paula of Spartanburg, S.C., brothers, Ronnie Singleton of Lavonia, Ga., and Donnie Singleton of Athens, Ga., sister, Sue Ethridge of Hartwell, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, David Singleton.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel of Hartwell. Rev. Jim Winn, Rev. C. Roy Smith and Rev. Keith McKenzie will officiate. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening. The family will be at the home of his mother, Mary Singleton, 275 Rock Springs Road, Lavonia, Ga.
