Mr. Billy Ray Vickery, 84, of Royston, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia, GA.

Born on August 12, 1939 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Clarence Clifton Vickery and Dessie Mae Brown Vickery.  Mr. Vickery was a retired mechanic from Owens Corning Fiberglass, Hart County Volunteer Fire Department Chief from 1996 to 2008, and was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Phyllis Vaughn Vickery; one son: Keith Vickery (Laura) of Royston; three grandchildren: Britani Link (Rusty), Jenna Vickery, Lexie Vickery and one great grandchild: Raegan Link. Mr. Vickery also has two brothers: Forrest Vickery, Charles Vickery (Betty) and a sister: Bobbi Jean Cash all of Anderson. Mr. Vickery is preceded in death by his parents; one son: Brian Vickery; one brother: Thomas Vickery; three sisters: Sarah Hillhouse, Doris Rainey and Gladys Davenport.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Springs Baptist Church. Other times the family will be at the home.

Services for Mr. Billy Ray Vickery will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jody Wynn and Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
