Mrs. Blanche Wood Thompson, age 90, of Martin, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born August 17, 1920, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Anderson and Martha Alta Brown Wood. She was a homemaker and was a member of Clarks Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lawrence Hugh Thompson and brother: Lake Arnold Wood.
She is survived by daughters: Mrs. Linda (Harold) Rogers and Mrs. Karen (Ken) Ledford both of Toccoa, Mrs. Pat (Joe) Wang of Gainesville; grandchildren: Amy Rogers Brady, Donna Rogers McDaniel, Steven Wang, Jonathan Wang, Stacie Wang Mavis, Ashley Ledford Culberson; great-grandchildren: Evan & Erin Brady, Anna Wang, Emily Grace Mavis, Jacob Wang, Blake, Whitney, & Alexa McDaniel; Niece: Gail Wood Auer; and nephew: Douglas A. Wood.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the Clarks Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Ritcey and Rev. Britt Ginn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. At other times the families will be at their respective home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Clarks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
