Mr. Bob T. McDowell, 81, of LeCroy Lane, Hartwell, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospice House, Bogart.

Born on October 27, 1933 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late John T. McDowell and Ina Temples McDowell.He was a retired machine operator from Monroe Auto Equipment and a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Diane Hughes of Elberton and Sherry Gibson of Hartwell; three sisters: Sue Ellis of Statesville NC, Belle Richardson of Easley SC and Ruby Moss of Hartwell; two brothers: Shem McDowell and Alex McDowell both of Hartwell; seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Jimmy McDowell and Talmadge McDowell; one brother: J. T. McDowell and two sisters: Lena Stone and Peggy Lipford.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
