Mrs. Bobbie Janell Whittington Benfield, age 60, of Lavonia, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at her home.
Born December 27, 1950, in DeRidder, LA, she was the daughter of the late: Sylvester and Ollie Mae (Higginbotham) Whittington. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Coker.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law: James and Debbie Benfield; daughter & son-in-law: Lisa and James Toney; daughter: Cindy Benfield and Kelvin Hoggard; grandchildren: Sean, Kelsey, and Josh Benfield, Kaylee Jones, and Makenna Benfield; step grandchildren: Daveion Joyner, Ke'Asia Joyner, and Kelvonna Hoggard; sister and brother-in-law: Betty and William Harper; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles "Buck" and Phyllis Whittington, Gerald and Linda Sue Whittington, and Greg and Linda Kay Whittington.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Lavonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.At other hours the family will be at the home.
