Bobby Ray Brock, Sr., age 84, of Martin, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at his home.

Born May 26, 1938, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Guy H. Brock, Sr. and Nora Bruce Brock. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as the manager of the meat department at Dill's Food City after forty years of service. Mr. Brock was a member Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Richard Tim Brock; and brothers: Guy Brock, Jr., Royce Brock, Ben Brock, and Terrell Brock.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Louise Walters Brock; children: Nora Brock Chambers (Rick) and Bobby Ray Brock, Jr (Charolette); sisters: Wynell Leard and Jeanette Greer (Sam); grandchildren: Michael Patrick (Leah), Andrew Patrick (Brittany), Matthew Brock (Kristina), Heath Chambers (Lara), and Kyle Chambers (Natalie); great-grandchildren: Ensley Patrick, McKenzie McDuffie, Aimes & Brody Patrick, Madison & Maisyn Brock, Kara Boyce, Izzy & Jasper Chambers, and AnnaLee & Jackson Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Courtney Umbehant officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
