Mr. Bobby Lamar Cobb, age 73, of 3280 Highway 59 – Lavonia, died peacefully Sunday, May 27, 2007 at his home.
Born April 6, 1934, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late William Claude and Talsie Kay Cobb. He retired from General Motors after 36 years and was a member of the UAW Retirees Union. He served in the US Army and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers: Dwight and Shirley Cobb.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Haney Henderson Cobb; daughters: Barbara Cobb Juhan of Atlanta and Mahria Clarke of Hampton; sons: Terry Henderson of Summerville, Clay Henderson of Stockbridge, and Kevin Henderson of Hampton; sister: Janette Rutherford of Lavonia; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
