Bobby Gentry, age 82, of Canon, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his home.
Born March 13, 1939 in Madison County, he was the son of the late Ed and Rosie (Hill) Gentry.Before retirement he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Royston and the Franklin County Landfill. He was a member of Vingeard Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a daughter: Cynthia Gentry; and siblings: Sarah Wright, Reba Hunsinger, Julie Sanford and E. J. Gentry.
He is survived by his wife: Joanne (Bowman) Gentry; daughters: Bobbie Jo Gentry, Nancy Gentry and Loraine Gentry; sons: Cecil Gentry, Henry Gentry and Andy Gentry; siblings: Reba Hunsinger, Arnold Gentry, Julie Sanford, Homer Hunsinger, Faye Danielson and Ray Gentry; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friend on Tuesday beginning at 12:30 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home.
