Bobby Ray Hayes, age 61, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home.

Born August 25, 1960, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Albert and Laura (Crooks) Hayes. Prior to retirement, he was a construction worker with Steel Clad Construction. He loved Hot Rods and Mexican food. He was affectionately known as Uncle Bug by all of his "kids". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Brenda Joyce (Burdette) Hayes; brother: Jerry Hayes; and sister: Vernell Hayes Fleming.

Bobby is survived by his brothers & sisters-in-law: Wayne & Mary Hayes of Lavonia and James & Linda Hayes of Bowersville; sister & brother-in-law: Elizabeth & D. R. Mathis of Cumming; son: Greg Roach; grandchildren Wyatt Roach and Darby Roach; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Gary Hulsey officiating. A private burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
