Mr. Bobby Richard Hodgson, age 83, of Lavonia, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born August 7, 1933, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Robert Franklin and Velma Isabel (Horne) Hodgson. Mr. Hodgson was a retired US Air Force veteran having served in the Strategic Air Command and Air Borne Command Post. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Brenda Rae Hodgson; sister: Betty Jo Martin; and brothers: Raymond Hodgson and David Hodgson.
He is survived by his wife: Frankie (Melton) Hodgson of the home; daughter: Marilyn Darlene Harbin; sons: Robert Franklin Hodgson and James Walter Hodgson; sisters: Marie Hodgson and Marion Davis; sister-in-law: Barbara Hodgson; grandchildren: Christopher James Hodgson, Simon Hodgson, Phillip Johns and Sarah Smith; great grandchildren: Kayla Renee Johnson, Skylar Johnson and Bankston Smith.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. With military honors provided by the US Air Force.
