Mr. Bobby Wayne "Bob" Lewis Sr., 77, of Liberty Lane, Hartwell, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville SC.

Born on May 21, 1938 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Jule "Buss" Lewis and Gladys Crittendon Lewis.Mr. Lewis, in 1972, founded and was the owner/operator for 43 years of Lewis Lumber & Supply of Hartwell.He was a former member of the Hart County Jaycees, a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge # 690 and was a member of the Yarrab Shrine, where he was both a York Rite and Scottish Rite Shriner.Mr. Lewis was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and served on several church committees.He loved spending time with his family, building, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Dixie Bowers Lewis; two sons: Wayne Lewis and his wife Billie and Keith Lewis all of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Blakelie Chapman, Ashley Chapman, Brandon Lewis, Haleigh Lewis and Bobby Lewis III and his wife Brittany; three great-grandchildren: Landyn, Isabella and R.J. and Robin O'Barr, who he loved as a daughter.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart, Rev. Connie Mack Bowers and Rev. Lonnie Bennett officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Bowers Fund, 200 East Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.
