Mr. Bobby A. McLane, 79, of McLane-Morris Road, Hartwell, died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center, Lavonia.
Born on February 10, 1935 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Eppie McLane and Myrtice Bailey McLane Simpson.He was a Poultry and Cattle farmer, a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, the McDoyle SS Class, a Deacon and served on the Church Cemetery Committee.Mr. McLane served on the Hart County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, The Soil Conservation Advisory Board and was a member of the Hart County Cattleman's Association and the Hart County Camp of Gideons International.
Survivors include his wife: Merle Bratcher McLane; three sons: Earl McLane of Hartwell, Bill McLane & his wife Janice of Canon and Tom McLane & his wife Angie of Hartwell; a brother: Roy McLane of Austell GA; two sisters: Mary White of Hartwell and Iola Chastain of Monroe GA; eight grandchildren: Keith, Jennifer, Allison, Julie, Kevin, Jenny, Mikal and Jayce; fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.Mr. McLane was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Joe McLane, Edwin Simpsonand J. D. Simpson and a great-grandchild: Zachary Pilgrim.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black and Mr. Leslie Boles officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m… The family are at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Mt.
