John Bobby Stonecypher, age 81, of Hull, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1934, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Charles Henley Stonecypher and Amanda Leona Copeland. He retired from General Times – Westclox. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of New Heaven Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Jannie Lee (Couch) Stonecypher; daughter: Cynthia Lee Stonecypher; god-daughter: Cynthia Ann (Hambrick) Jablonski; and god-granddaughters: Jesse Jablonski and Jenny Jablonski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Taska Jo Fitzgerald and Bonnie Louise Hughes.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 pm. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. John Verschuren and Rev. Bob Alewine officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
