Mr. Bobby Rabun Walters, age 78, of Lavonia, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home.
Born September 26, 1937, in Lavonia, he was the son of the late Willie "Bill" and Ruby (Jordan) Walters. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Peachtree Specialty. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Edna (Brown) Walters; sister: Eleanor McCollum; and brothers: Doug Walters and Alton Walters.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Tony and Lynn Walters; daughter and son-in-law: Annette and Johnny Cheek; sister: Louise Brock; grandchildren: Josh Walters, Matthew & Haleigh Mealor, Ashley Mealor, Courtney & Will Madison, Jeffrey & Ashley Cheek, and Jake & Stashia Cheek; great-grandchildren: Brody & Kason Mealor, Jacob & Joel Cheek, and Waylon & Jackson Cheek; and special friend: Sharon Fields.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours, the family will be at the home.
