Mrs. Bonnie Sue (Adams) Buffington, age 84, of Lavonia, died Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born September 16, 1931 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lula Mae (Miller) Adams. She had worked for Milliken and Monroe in vending delivery. She was of the Church of God faith.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Maurice and Sharon Buffington of Lavonia; sister: Mary Smith of Seneca, SC; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Sam Harrison Buffington; son: Tommy Buffington; daughter: Doris Herring; brother: Frank Adams; sisters: Hazel Carter and Ruth Cheek.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Lavonia City Burgess Cemetery with Rev. Gettis Allen officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday starting at 2:00 p.m.
