Mrs. Bonnie Sue (Blakely) Whitworth, 73 of Lavonia, GA died Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Stephens County Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1934, in Hartwell, daughter of the late J. K. & Bertie (Graham) Blakely. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. She was an active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years: Furman L. Whitworth
She is survived by a daughter: Rhonda Beebe; two sons: Ricky Whitworth & wife Cathy and Rusty Whitworth & wife Debbie; four grandchildren: Davey Beebe, Stephanie Edwards, and Katie & Mary Beth Whitworth; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, December 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Flowers are optional or donations may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church for the Maintenance Fund.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason DeFoor officiating. Mrs. Whitworth will lie in state in the church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
