Mr. James Alton "Boone" Milford, 84, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 at St Mary's Hospice House, Watkinsville, GA.

Born on February 19, 1931 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Joel H. Milford and Clara Holbrooks Milford.Mr. Milford was a self-employed brick mason and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.He also was a former Co-owner and operator of the Hartwell Speedway.

Survivors include one daughter: Darlene Reed and her husband Brian of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Carrie Ingram and Justin Reed; five great-grandchildren: Adam Brown, Kelsey Brown, Gina Ingram, Bailey Reed and Emma Nichols; one brother: Jimmy Milford of Hartwell; two sisters: Doris Agnew and Sue Floyd both of Hartwell.Mr. Milford was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Sheree Milford; four brothers: Carey Milford, Harold Milford, Joel Mitchell Milford and Tommy Milford; and two sisters: Lou Ann Chastain and Frances Cleveland.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with the Rev. Jason Webb officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.The family is at the home of Darlene and Brian Reed, 661 Mt. Olivet School Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
