Mr. Boyd Lowery Jordan, 86, of Bethany-Bowersville Road, Canon, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his home.

Born on August 29, 1931 in Hart County GA, he was the son of the late Lowery Jordan and Clara Herndon Jordan.Mr. Jordan attended Hart County Schools, North Georgia College and University of Georgia.He also was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a retired Court Reporter.Mr. Jordan was an active member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church, where he served as song leader, attended Men's Club and earlier years sang at many weddings and funerals.He was a member and past President of the Hartwell Golf Club, member of the Elks Lodge 1100, VFW and the Bowersville Masonic Lodge.He also enjoyed working in his flower gardens and growing vegetables to give to friends.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife: Doris Mann Jordan; a son: Bruce Jordan and his wife Joy; a daughter: Mary Bailey and her husband Gerald; his grandchildren: Casey Jordan, Adrian, David, Paul, Joey, Gabrielle and Sam Akin, Jannah Canup, Justin and Jordan Collins and Karmella Sclafani; a brother: Douglas Jordan and his wife Jennie and a sister-in-law: Elizabeth Jordan.Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother: Mauline Jordan Johnson; a daughter: Sherri Gay Jordan; a son: Kenneth Jordan; a brother: Dan Jordan and a sister: Pollyanna Jordan.

Funeral services will Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Macedonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Pittman officiating.Burial will be in the Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.The family will receive friends after the service in the church sanctuary.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Macedonia United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, C/O Peggy Price, 96 Fairview Ave, Hartwell GA 30643.
