Breeleigh Makayla Thomason, age 17, of Demorest, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Egleston Children's Hospital following a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Born June 9, 2002, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Steven & Rebecca (Spears) Mills. She was a senior at Habersham Central High School. She worked as a drive thru cashier at Zaxbys. She was an inspiration to those that knew her because of the joyful and loving attitude that she displayed in the midst of her difficult battle. Breeleigh was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her parents: Steven & Rebecca (Spears) Mills of Demorest; brothers: Mason Mills and Landon Mills; sisters: Katie Mills and Madesen Mills; maternal grandparents: Truett & Gwen Spears of Lavonia; paternal grandparents: Trudy & Cliff Myers of Clarkesville, Bruce Franklin of Cornelia, and Chuck & Irene Mills of Jefferson; and great grandparents: Daniel & Lounell Armour.
A celebration of Breeleigh's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia with Rev. John Forbes and Rev. Bobby Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. Because Breeleigh lived her life in such vibrant colors, she requested that everyone wear bright colors to celebrate her life.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
