Mrs. Brenda Gail (Smith) Bailey, age 71, of Martin, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born August 15, 1946, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late John David and Elizabeth (Warren) Smith. She retired from the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians as the office manager.
She is survived by her husband: Jimmy Bailey, Sr.; son & daughter-in-law: Jimmy & Sonny Bailey, Jr.; daughter & son-in-law: Stacy & Jody Stringfellow; grandchildren: Brandon Morton and Taylor Beaston; great-grandchildren: Aubrey and McKenzye Morton; sisters: Barbara Carter and Diane Mitchell; her beloved Maltese dog: Tinkerbell; and other extended family members.
The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia. Mrs. Bailey will be cremated in accordance with her request. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made, in Mrs. Bailey's memory, to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
