Mrs. Brenda Martin Bell, 72, of Hickory Crossing Road, Hartwell, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.

Born on March 28, 1942 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph J. Martin and Lorene Shaw Martin.Mrs. Bell began her young career as an LPN, but after only eight years of service her biggest and most treasured accomplishment truly began, raising and caring for her family.She was a faithful member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bell was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by her husband: James Bell of the home; a son: Derek Bell & Susan of Hartwell; two daughters: Darlene Bell Alexander & Chris of Elberton and Christi Bell Coulter of Hartwell; two brothers: Billy Sam Martin of Hartwell and Stanley Martin of Marietta GA; a sister: Jeanette Gurley of Hartwell; six grandchildren: Evan Alexander, Ethan Alexander, Austin Bell, Andrea Bell, Andrew Bell & Kanyon Coulter and one great-grandchild: Eli Alexander.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Walters, Rev. James Sexton and Rev. Mike Westbrook officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.The family will be at the home of Derek & Susan Bell, 620 Hickory Crossing Road, Hartwell.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 3285 Elberton Hwy, Hartwell GA30643.
