Obituary
Mr. Gordon Brett Irwin, 48, of 589 Lakeshore Circle, Hartwell, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Hartwell Health Care Center.
Born on March 20, 1963 in Pontiac, MI, he was the son of Dr. W. Gordon Irwin and Gloria Jane Hubbard Irwin. He graduated from Valdosta State University with a degree in Philosophy and worked at Tri-State Stone Works in Hartwell.
He is survived by his mother: Gloria Jane Irwin of Hartwell; his father: Dr. W. Gordon Irwin and his wife, Sonya Irwin, of Hartwell; his wife: Robbie Hollingsworth Irwin of the home; two daughters: Tyler Irwin of Anderson, SC, and Chandler Irwin of Atlanta; one brother: Brad Irwin of Cumming; one sister: Rebecca Stidham of Flowery Branch; and his paternal grandmother: Geraldine Irwin of Hartwell. Mr. Irwin was preceded in death by his first wife: Martha Lynn Irwin.
Memorial services will be Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Durham officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to the Hartwell Health Care Center c/o Marsha Beck, 94 Cade Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
