Mr. David Brian Burroughs, 63, of Jud Cole Road, Bowersville, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Born on March 23, 1960, in Augusta, GA, he was the son of the late R.D. Burroughs and Leila Strickland Burroughs. Brian Burroughs was the former owner of the Swamp Guinea restaurant, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife: Judy Marsh Burroughs of the home; two sons: Raleigh Burroughs, and Lyle Burroughs & Kayla, all of Hartwell; one sister: Cheryl Perry & Mike of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Lydia Burroughs and Raleigh Paul Burroughs; and one special lap buddy: Gracie.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home of Lyle & Kayla Burroughs, 1204 Bert Moorhead Road, Canon, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. Brian Burroughs will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Huff and Mr. Lyle Burroughs officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
