William Alexander "Bucky" Wooten, age 79, of Martin, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
Born September 22, 1943, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late L.T. and Falonia McCollum Wooten. Prior to retirement, he worked as a sheetrock contractor. He was a member of Lavonia Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Tim Wooten. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the care and compassion of the staff at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Jo Pointer Wooten; daughters & sons-in-law: Susie & Keith Roling, Jenny & Greg Milford, Buffy & Bart York, and Becky & Alan Mitchell; grandchildren: Trent Roling, Brayde & Hannah Milford, Jenna Milford, Will Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Ginger Mitchell, Grayson & Sydney York, Olivia York, and Sarah York; great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Turner, and Maggie Milford; brother: Forrest "Tot" Wooten; sisters: Sonja William, Judy Patton, Sandra Fick, Carole Jefferson, Mary Norton, Shirley Scarborough, and Ree Alewine; and sister-in-law: Virginia Brown.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10. 2023, at the Lavonia Church of God with Rev. Adam Tripp officiating. A private burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
