Mr. Arther Lee "Butch" Wilson, 77, of Elberton Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.
Born on January 5, 1940 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late Jessie J. Wilson and Eva Whiten Wilson. Mr. Wilson was retired from Georgia Power Company, where he was an assistant Foreman on a line crew.He was also a member of Gideons International, Hart County Camp and the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Sylvia Pritchett Wilson, a daughter: Annalisa Wilson & her partner Stan Fleming of Hartwell; two sons: Arther Lee "Butch" Wilson Jr & his partner Jackie Carruth of Hartwell and Bob Wilson & his wife Gail of Lavonia; a step-son: Clay Chapman & his wife Katie of Tulsa OK; a sister: Alma Roberts of Lavonia; three brothers: Ted Wilson & his wife Carol of Carnesville, Ray Wilson & his wife Barbara of Hartwell and Cecil Wilson & his wife Gwen of Westminster SC; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Roberta English Wilson and two brothers: Glenn Wilson and Jessie Wilson Jr.
A memorial service celebrating Butch's life will held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Eric Moran officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.The family will be at the home of his daughter: Annalisa Wilson, 2109 Page Road, Hartwell.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 3864 Elberton Hwy, Hartwell Ga 30643 or Gideons International, Hart County Camp, PO Box 59, Hartwell GA 30643.
