Charles Auther "C. A." Brooks, age 82, of Carnesville, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his home.
Born October 18, 1939, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Jackson and Blanche (Cape) Brooks. He was a master plumber and owner of C & T Brooks Plumbing. He never met a stranger and was always friendly, with a smile to offer everyone. He loved to work with his hands and tinker in his shop. He always helped anyone in need. He worked with the Boy Scouts, while his sons were active with them. He built a service table for disabled individuals at the care center that his son, Randy, attended. He will be remembered as an honest, hard-working man.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce (Johnson) Brooks; son & daughter-in-law: Glenn & Sherry Brooks; grandchildren: Wesley Bailey and Melanie Bailey; brothers: Tom Brooks and Alfred Crowe; sisters: Lottie Hunter and Callie Ruth Stowe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Randy Brooks; brothers: G. W. Brooks and Raymond Brooks; and sisters: Ree Hill and Nail Savage.
The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Bowers Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
