Mr. Cecil Rudolph Norris, 75, of 43 Opal Street, Hartwell, GA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2006.
Born April 25, 1931 in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Raymond C. Norris and Rosa Roukoskie Norris.He was a retired Mechanic from Owens Corning Fiberglass and a member of the retirees club.He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, former Deacon, Men's Sunday School Class, Brotherhood, and the Choir.He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart.
His survivors include:Wife, JaneReid Norris of the home; Four daughters, Susan Parham and her husband, Phil of Hartwell, GA, Donna Mull and her husband, Reggie of Easley, SC, Laura Vickery and her husband Keith of Hartwell, GA and Sheryl Brooks and her husband David of Hartwell, GA; Brother, John Norris of Athens, GA; Sisters,Gloria Howard of Charleston, SC and Carolyn Flint of Charleston, SC; Three grandchildren, Brian Bailey, Benjamin Parham and Connor Brooks also survives.He is preceded in death by parents, Brothers, Raymond Norris, and Donald Norris, and a sister, Alice Bannister.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. James Sexton and Rev. Mike Bearden will officiate.Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 9:00 p.m.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 3285 Elberton Hwy., Hartwell, GA30643.
