Clarence L. "Tuck" Tucker, age 89, of Lavonia died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Hartwell Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
Born May 24, 1926, in Banks County, he was the son of the late Clarence L. Tucker, Sr. and Wilbert Pauline (Hill) Tucker. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Smith Furniture and owned his own repair business. He also retired from the Lavonia Fire Department and was a member for more than sixty years of the Lavonia Masonic Lodge #241. He was a charter member of the Lavonia CB Club and a founding member of the Rebel CB Radio Club Ambulance Service. Mr. Tucker was a member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 92.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy (Stewart) Tucker; brother: Billy Tucker; and grandson: Bryan J. Humphrey.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Sue & Johnny Humphrey and Kathy & Aaron Isbell; grandchildren: Stewart Humphrey; Leigh Fowler, Sharon Ashworth, Matt Isbell, and Courtney Kellum; and great-grandchildren: Kaleigh Fowler, Cohen Ashworth, Abigail Fowler, Brody Kellum, Kade Kellum, Reese Isbell, John Stewart Humphrey, and Olivia Isbell.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. At other hours the family will be at the home of Aaron & Kathy Isbell. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Lavonia United Methodist Church, 25 Baker Street, Lavonia, GA 30553.
