Mr. Calvin Cooledge Cannon, Jr., 81, of Montevideo Road, Rock Branch Community, Elberton, husband of Linda Jean Partain Cannon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at his residence.

The eldest of six, Calvin was born in Royston on June 10, 1945, to Calvin Cooledge Cannon, Sr. and Wandaline Catherine Jordan Cannon. He was a 1963 graduate of Elbert County High School and furthered his education at North Georgia Technical College. Calvin retired in 2015 from Cannon's TV Repair, which he owned and operated for 52 years.

He was a devoted member of Rock Branch Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Brotherhood Director, Youth Sunday School Teacher, was a member of the Properties Committee, and along with the Rev. Ed Sayer, began the Royal Ambassadors (RAs) Program. Calvin loved his church and the people in it. He was also a former member of the Elbert County Cattlemen's Association.

In Calvin's free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, and dove hunting. Calvin’s favorite pastimes were tending to his cows and cutting grass. He could often be found at the Elberton Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays helping Linda sell the many delicious items she had prepared.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Linda, with whom he would have celebrated 62 years of marriage on December 5; children: David and Tina Cannon of Elberton and Renea and Greg Colson of Royston; daughter-in-law, Jackie Cannon (Randy) of Anderson, SC; grandchildren: Brandon Cannon of Hartwell, Miranda and Ethan Alexander of Elberton, and Millie Colson of Royston; great-grandchildren: Gunner Alexander and Baby Girl Alexander (December); sisters: Kathy and Doug Hill of Danielsville and Debbie Trotter of Hartwell; special four legged friend, Tommy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Randall Eugene “Randy” Cannon; and siblings: Joyce Foster, Lamar Cannon, and Morris Cannon.

Calvin’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 3, from 12:30p.m. until 1:45p.m. at Rock Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Kevin Vaughn, will follow at 2:00p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Flowers are accepted, and contributions may be made in his memory to Rock Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 2150 Coldwater Road, Elberton, GA 30635.

Calvin Cannon will be remembered as a businessman, farmer, devoted husband, loving father, wonderful Granddaddy, but most importantly, a great man of God.
