Carey Bellamy, age 90, husband of the late Grace Bellamy, died Saturday, May 17 at his home.
The son of the late Samuel & Molly Hearn Bellamy, he was born September 16, 1917 in Franklin County. He was retired from Monroe Automotive and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Lavonia.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Linda & Howard McGee of Canon; grandchildren: Tracy Ertzberger Parsons and husband, Jack of Bowersville, Carey Craft and Kim Gerding of Canon, Chrystal Ayers of Lavonia, and Kelly McGee of Carnesville; and twelve great–grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Edna Grace Chastain Bellamy; a daughter: Wanda Bellamy Ertzberger; brothers: Thomas, Coy, Buril, Lyman, Tyrus, Kermit, Estes, & Holbert Bellamy; sisters: Dolly Spears, Azalee Bellamy, & Clustial Floyd; and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, May 19, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. Lavonia, officiated by Rev. Davis Lacey and Rev. Kenneth Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Bellamy will lie in state from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Lavonia, GA.
