On Friday, November 27, 2015 around 6:00 p.m. God sent his angels from heaven and called Carey Everette Mitchell, Aka: Ledfoot, to his heavenly home. Carey had battled with his declining health for a few years. Carey was a unique individual, to know him was to love him. He was a talented woodworker, born with a green thumb, loved his flowers, and loved to make people laugh. He loved his animals, born with a heart of gold.
Carey was the son of Ted Mitchell and Patsy Mitchell of Martin and the late Mary Ann Withers Mitchell Carter. He was grandson of the late Inman and Sarah Withers and Corbett and Annie Mitchell. Sisters: Martha Mitchell of Martin and Maria Mitchell of Carnesville. Daughters: Ryan Campbell of Lavonia and Tarrah Mitchell of Royston. Grandson: Gavin Holman of Royston. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Burrell officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other times the families will be at their respective homes.
