Mr. Carl A. Griswell Jr, 75, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on November 2, 1947 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the Carl A. Griswell Sr. and Martha Farmer Griswell. Mr. Griswell was a retired network services manager for Southern Bell, and even did some beta testing for Microsoft. Carl was a very patriotic man who deeply loved his family and all animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds. He was also a great dancer and loved to sing opera, boating, living on the lake, NASCAR and a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan. Mr. Griswell was also a member of the Mustang Field Association and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife: Sandra Carmichael Griswell of Hartwell; son: David L. Griswell of Hartwell; two daughters: Alicia G. Hogan (Dale) of Monroe, GA and Lisa K. McDearis (Brian) of Loganville, GA; two brothers: Richard and Danny, both of Alpharetta, GA; two sisters: Barbara and Robbie, both of Alpharetta, GA; six grandchildren: Corey and Dusty Griswell, Colby, Peyton, and Addison Hogan, and Ashley McIntyre; and one great grandchild, Ajax McIntyre, also survives.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Griswell will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Howard Foster officiating.  Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
