Carlos Julius Richey, 83, of Lavonia, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at The Scenic Oaks in Baldwin, GA. Born April 9, 1933, he was the son of the late William Robert and Mary Dura Richey. Carlos was preceded in death by: wife, Cohen Lavon Richey; twin brother, Howard Richey; brother, Buddy Richey; two sisters, Sara Roberson and Doris Wilson. He was of the Baptist Faith and a supporter of Christ Over All Ministries. He was a retired machinist from Lockheed Martin.
Carlos was a devoted father and is survived by six children: Becky Heaton, Randy Richey, Mike Richey, Teresa Vinson, Lisa McCurley, and Phillip Richey, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Richey will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his late wife. A private graveside service will be officiated by Reverend Joe Renfro on Saturday, May 14th. A memorial service (Celebration of Life) will be held at the family residence on Sunday, June 19th at 2:00 for those who wish to attend.
