Carlton Jackson, age 82, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born July 16, 1939 in Wilmer, Alabama, he was the son of the late Cleve Jackson, Jr. and Roetta Lanora Finch. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired truck driver with Blue Circle Concrete Company. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jackson loved tractor trailer trucks, but motorcycles were his passion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Delores Goggins Jackson; and siblings: Rosalee Jarmen, Henry Jackson, and Jack Jackson.
He is survived by children: Michelle Bunker, Michael Jackson (Tamara), and Gelana Perry; grandchildren: Cody Patterson, Jacklyn Jackson, and Shawn Jackson; great-grandchildren: Wadelynn Patterson and Travis Jackson; brothers: Tom Jackson, Cleve Jackson, Jr., Marshal Jackson, and Reginald Jackson; and sisters: Edna Wilson, Jane Finch, Jacqueline Garber, Ivan Murral, and Audrey Casey.
Mr. Jackson's request was to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Finch's Cemetery in Agricola, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, in care of Michelle Bunker, to defray funeral and medical expenses.
