Mrs. Carol Gray Harris, 80, of Royston Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at her home.

Born on March 19, 1936 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late William Howard Gray and Evelyn Mackey Gray.Mrs. Harris was a retired owner and operator of Carol's Flowers & Gifts and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She also was a former member of the GROW & Young at Heart Sunday School Class, Choir, kitchen committee and flower committee. Mrs. Harriswas also a Breast Cancer survivor.

Survivors include her son: Greg Harris of the home; two daughters: Laurie Adams (Steve) of Hartwell, Janna Ertzberger (Bob) of Bowersville; one brother Herbert Gray (Alice) of Dawsonville, GA; sister-in-law: Lura Gray of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Suzanne Lamb (Thomas), Brandon Adams, Nathan Adams, Blake Ertzberger, Sydney Ertzberger; three great-grandchildren: Bailey, Morgan and Nolan Lamb. Also her special caregivers: Joy McCurley, Pat Cleveland, Annette Callahan, Charlotte Wallace, Peggy Thomason, Dustee Edwards, Janet Shiflet, Dianne Langston and Jean DeGrave.Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Winston Harris of 59 years; and one brother: Jackie Gray.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 20, 2017, 4:00 pm at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.The family is at the home. Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church Kitchen Fund, 2085 Bethany-Bowersville Road, Canon, GA 30520.
